Microorganisms

The primary 7s have started investigating microorganisms and are in the process of conducting an experiment based around the build up of microorganisms on our hands.  This involved the children rubbing their hands on slices of bread - a strange but enjoyable experience for all.  We will keep you updated with the results.

Sports Visitors


This week the P7s had a visit from a Basketball coach and took part in a Nunchuck taster session.

Busy build up to Christmas.


The Primary Sevens have had a really busy few weeks.

 We have been to the Denny Tank to continue our work on renewable energy.





We have been carol singing at Tesco and Edinbarnet House.





The digital motivator has been back in, allowing the children to continue their work on their songs.



We have also had a visit from a reindeer.

STEM Activities

Recently, P7/6 were working together on making an earthquake-proof structure. Some attempts were more successful than others, but everyone worked well together and tried their best.

Earthquakes



As part of their new natural disasters topic, the P7s have been looking at the structure of our world, fault lines and how they result in earthquakes.  They also considered measures that can be taken to reduce the damage and impact of earthquakes; competing in a simulation to see who could protect a virtual city.

Denny Tank visit.

Last week the primary sevens visited the Denny tank to learn about the history of the facility, experiment with building boats and start a series of lessons on renewable energy sources.
